Michael Paseornek, President of Lions Gate Movies Productions, commenced the U.S. operation of predecessor Cinepix Film Qualities (CFP) in New York. When the indie producer/distributor was purchased by Lions Gate Leisure in 1998, he was named President of Lions Gate Films Productions. In that position, he has overseen all of the company’s movement image enhancement and production initiatives for the past six several years.
Below Paseornek’s creation leadership, a number of Lions Gate films have received commercial good results, vital recognition and pageant acclaim considering that 1998, such as: AMERICAN PSYCHO, executive created by Paseornek, directed by Mary Harron, and starring Christian Bale, Reese Witherspoon, and Willem Dafoe SHADOW OF THE VAMPIRE, starring Academy Award nominee Willem Dafoe and John Malkovich and I’M Losing YOU, govt made by Paseornek and starring Rosanna Arquette, Andrew McCarthy and Frank Langella, which have been all invited to the Toronto and Telluride Movie Festivals. Paseornek started his occupation soon after graduating from New York College in 1974 when he grew to become the composing partner of former Countrywide Lampoon editor Michel Choquette. He then turned a humorist-speechwriter for some of the nation’s leading organization executives. He also co-wrote the film STITCHES, was a author on the ABC series OMNI, served as script-medical doctor for a variety of film assignments and landed advancement discounts with Warner Bros. and Paramount. In the late 70s, Paseornek satisfied CFP’s Canadian co-founders John Dunning and Andre Link and designed the sequel to their comedy strike MEATBALLS. He went on to rewrite their Twentieth Century Fox production of THE VINDICATOR and tailored several novels they experienced optioned into screenplays. Dunning and Backlink financed Paseornek’s award-profitable AIDS documentary Safe and sound in 1987 and his directorial debut, VIBRATIONS, acquired by Miramax for their Dimension label.
