When heart palpitations are related to menopause, you can feel a combination of symptoms at the same time such as rapid heartbeat and hot flashes or night sweats. During these episodes your heart rate increases anywhere from eight to sixteen beats per minute than the normal rate. But in addition to hormonal changes, menopause heart palpitations can also be caused by stress. Some women only experience palpitations when they are under stress. During a stress your heart throbs faster than usual, resulting in an extended QT Internal which causes the irregular heart beats.
