It Is Still “the Economy Stupid”

By Michael J. Economides and Joe D’Aleo

The biggest effect of man-made global warming is that it brought to the mainstream what used to be considered as radical ideological dribble. Time did it first and then, not to be outdone, Newsweek upped the ante in a cover story that was one of the vilest, most venomous pieces of propaganda masquerading as journalism. Deniers were denigrated to, at least ogres or worse, oil-company stooges.

“It’s the economy stupid” is what made us support Bill Clinton because he proved to be a pragmatist Democrat. That’s great when a socially liberal man realizes that a strong economy is essentially to the solution of most social problems.

What is rarely mentioned in the recent arguments is that the facts simply do not matter. If those that have taken sides were honest they would admit it readily. World jealousy and envy of the biggest culprit, but also the most successful nation of the era is not even disguised. The trouble is that these sentiments have been repeated recently often by many Americans and the press. Is the America-hating American back in vogue?

Thus, whether global warming is happening or not (a heated debate and clearly not the much ballyhooed “scientific consensus”) or whether it is anthropogenic, a preposterous argument in our view (and we have made calculations) are not really the issue. It does not matter whether Gore’s statement in his documentary that “nine of the ten warmest years were in the last decade” has been repudiated with nary a whimper from the already convinced press. Nor does it matter that a very large number of thermometers measuring the trumpeted warming are badly and prejudicially positioned.

It should not surprise people that the global warming ideology that portrays America as materialistic, a hog of world resources is exactly the rallying cry of Osama Bin Laden.

We should not be apologetic for our lifestyle, the fact we enjoy the highest standard of living, something we earned. Should we be ashamed that Americans have the highest per capita productivity in the world?

We are sure nothing of consequence will happen. The economy, ever resilient, will debunk alarmism and will eventually zero in on the right solution. It’s just the noise, stupid.  Read full essay here.

High Court Rules Against Al Gore’s Inconvenient Truths

UPDATE: See BBC video report on the court’s ruling here.

A High Court judge today ruled that An Inconvenient Truth can be distributed to every school in the country but only if it comes with a note explaining nine scientific errors in Al Gore’s Oscar-winning film.

The Government had pledged to send thousands of copies of the film to schools across the country, but a Kent father challenged that policy saying it would “brainwash” children.

A judge was asked to adjudicate between Stewart Dimmock and the Department of Children, Schools and Families. Mr Justice Burton ruled that the film could be sent to schools, but only if it was accompanied by new guidlines to balance the former US vice-president’s “one-sided” views

The judge said some of the errors were made in “the context of alarmism and exaggeration” in order to support Mr Gore’s thesis on global warming.

He said that while the film was dramatic and highly professional, it formed part the ex-politician’s global crusade on climate change and not all the claims were supported by the current mainstream scientific consensus. He went on to list those errors. Read them here.

Climate Project Brings Gore’s Global Warming Slideshow to a Senior Center Near You

By Noel Sheppard, Newsbusters

Have you heard about The Climate Project?

This is an organization founded by soon-to-be-Nobel Laureate Al Gore designed to train mindless automatons the Global Warmingist-in-Chief’s factually flawed slideshow so that they can travel around the world inciting hysteria about manmade global warming. And, of course, make Al Gore more money! Maybe most deplorable, their lectures are given at community centers, senior facilities, coffee houses, and other places members of the public go to meet, greet, and eat. Would you like a schmear of propaganda with your bagel this morning, Mrs. Silverman?

In June 2006, The Climate Project (TCP) began operations based in Nashville, Tennessee, as non-profit organization with the mission of increasing public awareness of the climate crisis at a grassroots level throughout the United States and abroad. By April 2007, a diverse group of 1000 volunteers from every corner of the USA had been trained to present a version of the slide show on which the Academy Award-winning film, “An Inconvenient Truth” is based. More Nashville trainings are planned for later in 2007, focusing on specific sector groups. In addition, TCP/Al Gore-training initiatives have already trained almost 400 people in the UK and Australia with international trainings being planned in Spain, India, China, Canada and others. How delightful. Al Gore is creating disciples to assist him with his fraud.

Of course, after you overcome your nausea, you should be impressed with this facet of Gore’s marvelous scheme. Think about it: just two years after he accused President Bush of playing on the country’s fears concerning 9/11 in order to invade Iraq, Gore played on America’s Hurricane Katrina fears by releasing a movie that fraudulently claimed global warming to be responsible for that natural disaster. Next, he enlisted brainless Hollywoodans and media members to assist him in spreading the lie while soliciting volunteers all around the world to do the same thing.  To be sure, all this occurred well after he had positioned himself to benefit financially from the hysteria he was creating.
